There hasn't been anything like this grip the nation or even the world, for at least 100 years. I feel like I've almost lost my freedom. I'm trying to see the light. I'm finding joy every day. But, I also feel very confined. Very not free. And, quite bored. I can't even get the food I'd like. But, it's okay. Everyone else is in the same position. At least I have plenty of canned pears. I've washed every bit of clothes and dishes. Cleaned every corner. I think the worst part is being alone. This is a new way to live.
We're going to get a shelter in place order at 9am. I've pretty much been doing that, there's not much to do. But, it's a bit unsettling because now, I have to. At least I'm in a safe place. I'm so thankful for that.
There are a lot more homeless people walking the streets right now. I've seen them everywhere.
I'm still running appointments, when they become available. I'm very thankful for that, too. But, I am taking every precaution. I need to stay heathy and work through this. I wonder if people who have recovered from the virus have to shelter in place... I really like my job. Especially when things are coming in. It's scary when they stop, but I'm just getting into my groove - no thanks to a global pandemic. Who would have thought I would enjoy selling security systems so much. It's crazy. But, I really like it. When my mind shifted to helping the people with their problems, to developing a partnership with them, it made all the difference. I've volunteered, several times, to run the Austin branch, when we open one. I hope I get a company car. That would be so cool. I know, I'm a nerd.
"Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." Colossians 3:2
This can be a challenge right now, when the news bombards us, every hour, with some new, daunting number. We are going to be all right. God knows exactly what He's doing. And, He's not sheltering in place. He's right there with you, right now. He's with me. Let's use this opportunity to show His Love in us. To show that there is more to this life than the "COR," as Daddy keeps calling it.
